Position: VP of Development
Division: Development Office
Summary
Reporting to the President, the position is responsible for planning and managing the College's fund-raising programs. This includes developing fund raising goals and strategies, implementing successful campaigns, establishing department priorities and developing collaborative relationships. This position will also establish the direction and manage the effective implementation of Parent & Alumni Relations, grant writing, and other Development areas. This position is responsible supervision of all development staff, budget, data management, events, fund raising, development publications, research, stewardship, and technology.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and implement a comprehensive Planned Giving program to help the College meet its vision, mission and projects.
- Increase donor support by identifying, cultivating and soliciting existing and new major donor sources for capital, annual and endowment gifts.
- Prepare strategies for major donors and prospects by identifying strategic initiatives to fit their interest areas.
- Collaborate with the President and senior staff on donor prospect development for major gift solicitation.
- Oversee the planning, coordination and execution of special events.
- Provide the leadership to develop a campus-wide culture and climate of philanthropy, work with alumni, and the campus community, to address the College's funding needs and opportunities.
- Leverage innovation, including technology, to help the College meet funding goals.
- Develop and implement benchmarks and progress reporting mechanisms.
- Create a team-based, highly collaborative approach with the College's students, faculty, staff and constituents.
- Oversee and direct all aspects of stewardship including timely gift processing, and donor recognition.
- Ensure compliance to meet fiscal and/or data responsibility and integrity requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; Master's degree preferred
- Eight years of experience (including securing major gifts) in planned giving or advancement, marketing, public affairs in Higher Education or another related industry is a plus
- Computer proficiency in MS Office, Raiser's Edge, and database management
- Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills, as well as, excellent organizational, leadership, project management and people management skills
- Working knowledge of tax laws affecting charitable giving is a plus
Experience establishing positive relationships with the local, state, national and/or international members of the diverse philanthropic communities is a significant plus.

Title: Division Chair
Division: Business and Professional Studies
Summary
The Division Chairperson is the chief academic officer and educational leader for disciplines (majors) within the described division. The Chairperson will provide leadership for the Division in a manner that supports the vision of Paul Quinn College and prepares the next generation of scholars for the global market. The Chair reports directly to the Office of the Provost/Vice President of Academic Affairs. This position will provide instruction in various Business courses. The position is responsible for the direction of programs, instruction, lifelong learning, advising, community service, and creative endeavors.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position will organize the Department, by taking the initiative to develop Departmental policies and procedures for instruction, life-long learning, and applied research. Additionally, the position will:
- Organize the Department, taking the initiative in developing Departmental policies and procedures for instruction, life-long learning, and applied research.
- Recruit capable faculty members with the concurrence of the Provost.
- Encourage excellence in teaching, and to develop instruments for its evaluation and improvement.
- Encourage faculty in efforts to engage in research, community service writing, and other creative endeavors.
- Organize and supervise appropriate faculty seminars and Departmental conferences.
- Make effective recommendations to the Provost relative to hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, contracts, leaves of absence, transfer, suspension, discipline and termination.
- Serve as a channel of communication between the faculty and the academic council Provost and general college office.
- Administer the Departmental budget, supervise the Department's secretarial and support staff, and supervise physical facilities under the jurisdiction of the Department.
- Prepare schedules of course offerings based on projected student enrollment for the semester.
- Devise a plan for advising students in their major field of study.
- Ensure that Department advisors prepare and approve programs of study (check- sheets) for students in their area of concentration.
- Encourage the organization and operation of appropriate student seminars, conferences, students groups and clubs within the Department.
- Participate in teaching and research, and to maintain relationships with the technical, scientific, and scholarly organizations in his/her field.
- Cooperate with the development office in the preparation of proposals for funding opportunities for instruction, research, life-long learning, and community service.
- Develop and maintain appropriate contacts with professional organizations, foundations, business, professional, advisory, and community groups.
- Serve as liaison between the Department and other academic Departments of the College.
- Actively participate in local community organizations.
- Evaluate all department faculty on a semi-annual basis.
- Participate in the Annual Planning and Assessment process.
- Assist with all activities and documentation related to accrediting bodies and government request.
Qualifications
- Earned doctorate degree or Master’s degree in an appropriate field of the division
- Minimum of three years experience working in academia
- Exceptional communication and collaborative skills
- Must have at least two (2) years of teaching experience at the post secondary level and at least five years of progressive management experience.

Position: Senior Research Assistant
Division: Institutional Research and Effectiveness
Summary
This position will report to the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness. This position requires knowledge of higher education student learning outcomes assessment practices. Additionally, this position will require strong project management skills, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to work well in ambiguity.
Duties and Responsibilities
This job will require the ability to:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct studies related to but not limited to enrollment trends and retention rates
- Collect and analyze internal and external data and perform a wide range of reports
- Create surveys and analyze survey results
- Conduct focus groups and analyze focus group results
- Maintain and develop College databases
- Provide research, analysis and organizational support for accreditation
- Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university,
- Minimum of 3-5 full-time years of experience in Institutional Effectiveness, strong oral and written communications skills, multitasking, and project management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Products, SurveyMonkey, and SPPS
- Experience managing external data reporting requirements with various entities such as IPEDS
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and graphic form.
