The Tuesday Symposium: Expanding the Worldview of the Quinnite Nation Returns for Second Annual Season
Join the Quinnite Nation for The Tuesday Symposium on Tues., Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. The Tuesday Symposium is a nod to the tradition of excellence that exists in Dallas. This year's series will wrap with PQC's own Michael J. Myers, II, assistant professor of political science, speaking to the Quinnite Nation.
Myers has co-authored two chapters in two recently published books. In Alpha Phi Alpha: A Legacy of Greatness, The Demands of Transcendence, Myers and co-author Marybeth Gasman penned a chapter entitled "Setting an Example: The Philanthropic Contributions of Alpha Phi Alpha," which explores the historical context in which members of Alpha Phi Alpha have worked to advance the collective African-American community. In Black Educational Choice: Assessing the Private and Public Alternatives to Traditional K-12 Public Schools, Myers co-authored the chapter "Introduction: Towards Black Educational Choice" where he discusses how the rise of standards-based reform initiatives has birthed the school-to-prison pipeline.
Attendance is mandatory for staff, faculty and students.
