The group of ministers called the Bishop 5+1 will reunite to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its nationally recognized revival. This year’s revival will take place Sunday, November 4 through Friday, November 9 at Friendship-West Baptist Church in Dallas. Funds from the revival will benefit the Paul Quinn College endowment fund and the event will serve as the culminating “Week of Faith” for Paul Quinn’s 2012 Homecoming celebration. Each evening of the revival begins at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature the following ministers who are members of the Bishop 5 + 1 (schedule subject to change):

The Bishop 5+1 revival began in 1992 as an event featuring five ministers who attended Bishop College plus one guest speaker. Paul Quinn is located on the former campus of Bishop College. A fundraiser for Paul Quinn, the event raised $216,000 and attracted more than 13,000 people in 2009.
“I’ve described Bishop 5+1 as something that may very well be the defining philanthropic event in the history of Dallas’ black community and I still feel that way,” said Michael Sorrell, Esq., president of Paul Quinn College. “It’s great to be a part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the event, because it does so much to bring people in our community who believe in Paul Quinn College together.”
